Fizzy Floats for Turkey Day

| November 22nd, 2013 |

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I’m getting pumped to spend time with the family, whip up a bunch of food, and watch a little football. But one of my favorite traditions is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, specifically the floats…ice cream floats, that is.

To celebrate the holiday, I’ve rounded up recipes to represent a few parade favorites–hope you can’t wait to “gobble, gobble” these, just like me!

Sweet Minions

Inspired by “Despicably Delicious,” the Despicable Me 2 themed float, is a sinisterly sweet idea. (“Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-na-na!”)

Fall Fizzlist: The Soundtrack of the Season

| November 8th, 2013 |

That crispness in the air can mean only one thing: we’re in full-on fall mode! There’s nothing like leaf piles, sparkling cranberry juice, and cozy layers. Hit play on these top tunes for fall festivities:

Walking around, kicking up leaves under your feet.

“Pretty Colors” Chalk and Numbers

Cleaning the house before guests arrive.

“Lungs” Chvrches

Curling up on a chilly evening.

“Afterlife” Arcade Fire

Running errands during the holiday rush.

“Losing Sleep” John Newman

Dancing around your kitchen while making an apple pie.

“Deeper” Ella Eyre

Commuting home from work after the sun sets.

This is a fun game for the kids. Don’t just pop bubbles, pop balloons! It’s called “Pop Goes the Pumpkin,” and this is how it’s played: Cover a large foam board with burlap fabric…
